CREATE AND DEVELOP
What do the mural at Above & Beyond Children’s Museum, the storybook trail at Maywood, Sheboogie, and the Seas the Day Sailing event have in common? They all originated from the Innovator Fellowship program, which partners with local high schools, including Sheboygan North High School. This program provides high school juniors and seniors with the opportunity to explore non-traditional career paths. Through collaborative projects and learning experiences, students become part of a creative community, guided by program coordinators and working in collaboration with Jake's, and Lakeland University. In this program, they not only develop their passion-driven ideas but also create innovative projects, define their personal identity, and bring their unique visions to life.

Launch: Lakeland Student-Run Businesses
In 2020, Lakeland University introduced Launch: Lakeland Student-Run Businesses, a venture that empowers students to take charge of their own entrepreneurial journeys. Through Launch, students are provided with the tools and support to create, develop, and manage income-generating businesses. Launch currently operates four successful businesses and through these experiences offer a paid opportunity for students and serve as a platform to cultivate cooperative skills and develop strong leadership capabilities. Visit the Launch website to learn more about the opportunities for perspective students.
Lakeland's Cooperative Education program offers students a unique opportunity to earn academic credit while gaining valuable paid work experience. Lakeland’s Co-Op program complements traditional classroom learning by recognizing that students also learn best by doing and reflecting on their experiences. By participating in Cooperative Education, students can enhance their learning environment by drawing upon real-world experiences and applying their knowledge in professional work environments.
